About
Amanda Cousins is a recent graduate from Elon University with a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography and a BA in Biology.
Being originally from Miami, Fl, she grew up and began her dance training in North Carolina at Dance Theatre South in Durham, NC. While training there, she also helped teach young dancers ranging from the ages of 2.5 years old-5th graders and competed with the studio's competition team.
While studying at Elon University, Amanda trained in modern, West African, jazz, tap, and ballet. She had the opportunity to train with Janice Lancaster, Courtney Liu, Gene Medler, Cherie Bower, ShaLeigh Comerford, Justin Tornow, NeKeshia Wall, Nina Wheeler, Casey Avaunt, Renay Aumiller, Jasmine Powell, Sara Ruth Tourek, Jen Guy Metcalf, Alex Warren, Amy Love Beasley, Ingrid Johnson-Rodriguez, and Sayward Grindley. She also performed in various main stage productions, site specific pieces, and student led productions, performing in works by Ashley Lindsay, ShaLeigh Comerford, Souleymane Solo Sana, Sara Ruth Tourek, Lauren Kerns, Jen Guy Metcalf, and Amy Love Beasley.
During the summer of 2022, Amanda was selected to travel to Florence, Italy and perform at the Florence Dance Festival - Indossare L'Arte.
